How to Configure Windows 2000 to Connect to Cyber Mesa

1. Click the Start button, click Settings, and choose Control Panel.

2. Double-click the Network and Dial-up Connections icon.

3. Double-click the Make New Connection icon.

4. Click the Next button.

5. Select Dial-up to the Internet.
6. Click the Next button.

7. Select I want to set up my Internet connection manually, or I want to connect through a local area network (LAN).
8. Click the Next button.

9. Select I connect through a phone line and a modem.
10. Click the Next button.

11. Click the down arrow on the Select a modem to use to connect to the Internet drop-down list and choose your modem.
12. Click the Next button.

13. Delete any numbers in the Area Code field.
14. In the Telephone number field, type your local access number with no spaces or dashes
15. Remove the check from the Use area code and dialing rules box.
16. Click the Advanced button.

17. Click on the Connection tab.
18. Click the PPP (Point to Point Protocol) radio button in the Connection type area.
19. Check the box next to Disable LCP Extensions.
20. Click the None radio button in the Logon procedure area.

21. Click on the Addresses tab.
22. Click the My ISP automatically provides a Domain Server (DNS) address radio button in the DNS server address area.
23. Click the OK button.

24. Click the Next button.

25. In the User name field, type your user name with no capital letters or spaces. (NOTE:  Do not put @cybermesa.com after it.)
26. In the Password field, type your password.
27. Click the Next button.

28. In the Connection Name field, type your domain name (i.e. Cyber Mesa).
29. Click the Next button.

30. If you have not set up your email yet, you will be prompted to do so at this point. Click the Yes radio button in the Do you want to set up an Internet mail account now area.
31. Click the Next button.

32. In the Display Name field, type your name.
33. Click the Next button.

34. In the E-mail address field, type your email address.
35. Click the Next button.

36. Click the down arrow on the My incoming mail server is a __ server drop-down list and choose POP3.
37. In the Incoming mail server field, type pop.cybermesa.com
38. In the Outgoing mail server field, type smtp.cybermesa.com
39. Click the Next button.

40. In the Account name field, type your user name with no capital letters. (NOTE:  Do not put @cybermesa.com after it.).
41. In the Password field, type your password.
42. Check the box next to Remember password.
43. Click the Next button.

44. Make sure there is no check in the box next to To connect to the Internet immediately....
45. Click the Finish button.

You have successfully configured Windows 2000 to connect to the Internet.
